NRA Basic Shotgun

NRA Basic Shotgun Training

10 hours

Classes start at 8:00 AM

  • Learn about the different types of shotguns and their parts.
  • We’ll cover ammunition types and their uses.
  • We will discuss proper stance and the fundamentals of properly shooting flying targets.
  • Get the opportunity to learn hands on about a specific type of shotgun (learn your own gun).

Safety is our number one concern.

If you don’t have a shotgun, we will have guns and ammunition ($5 a box) available.

This course will include a good deal of time on the range actually breaking targets. This is a hands-on interactive course. By the end of the day, you should have acquired solid base knowledge on the fundamentals of shooting shotgun.

Classes are small with no other shooters present.

If you are thinking about purchasing a gun, we are happy to assist you in selecting the best type for you.

All training and shooting is held on private property, away from distractions. Classes are small with no other shooters present.

Address and directions will be provided prior to class date.

What to bring:

  • Kansas Driver’s License or ID card.
  • Guns and ammo (if available) – at least two boxes, target 8 or 7.5 shot.
  • Guns and ammo (if available).
  • Hearing and eye protection (if available)
  • Beverages (no alcohol)
  • Appropriate clothing for forecasted weather conditions (shooting will be outdoors).

Bottled water and snacks will be provided. Firearms, ammo, and personal protective equipment can be provided for students who don’t have their own. There is a charge of $5 per box of ammo for this class.

Please Note:

  • No firearms experience required. Beginners are welcome.
  • No children, pets, or guests of any kind are allowed during class. Students only.
  • Laws are strict and complicated as to who may legally handle firearms. If there are any felonies or domestic misdemeanors in yours past, please contact me ahead of time to discuss. There is also information available on the Kansas Attorney General’s website, here.
